Cooperstown Cookie Company Starts New Season Off Right
Cookie order from the New York Yankees
leads to $3,000 donation to Pathfinder Village
Cooperstown, New York - April 11, 2007 -
As part of festivities celebrating a new season of baseball, the New York Yankees chose Classic Baseball Shortbread Cookies from the Cooperstown Cookie Company as a special favor for their guests at the 2007 New York Yankees Homecoming Dinner.
"We're excited to have the New York Yankees as our newest customer," says Pati Drumm Grady, president and founder of the two-year-old company. Grady said she arranged to have the custom order of 2,400 cookies packaged at Pathfinder Village, a residential community dedicated to children and adults with Down syndrome. This connection resulted in the New York Yankees making a $3,000 donation to Pathfinder Village.
"We're thrilled about the generous donation to Pathfinder, it makes the Yankees order even sweeter," says Grady. She noted that all Cooperstown Cookie Company products, which include baseball-themed shortbread cookies, cookie mix, and candles, feature information about Pathfinder Village. The Cooperstown Cookie Company also donates a portion of its profits to the Edmeston, NY-based organization.
"Pathfinder Village continues to benefit in many ways from the association with the Cooperstown Cookie Company, " says Edward A. Shafer, Pathfinder's CEO.
Food Network to Feature Cooperstown Cookie Company and Pathfinder Village
On May 14, the popular Food Network program Unwrapped will premiere a new episode, "Crazy for Cookies," featuring the Cooperstown Cookie Company, Pathfinder Village and the National Baseball Hall of Fame. "It's a wonderful win-win-win, more people will find out about our delicious Classic Baseball Shortbread cookies, we'll be helping to build awareness about Pathfinder Village, and it will highlight the Hall of Fame and the beautiful place we live," says Grady.
"The Cooperstown Cookie Company has been an important corporate partner in spreading the word about Pathfinder Village and our work with children and adults who have Down syndrome," says Shafer.
Cooperstown Cookie Company Experiencing Strong Growth in "Home Run Favors"
The Cooperstown Cookie Company is experiencing record growth in their sale of Home Run Favors, which include the Tiny Tubes of Classic Baseball Shortbread (the Yankee order included their red, white and blue Top Hat logo), Bag o' Bunts with bite-sized, baseball-shaped cookies, and handmade Chocolate Baseball Caps.
"In addition to the Yankees, we've had specialized corporate orders as well as an increase in special event favors, like birthdays, weddings, and Bar mitzvahs," says Grady, who founded the company with her family's favorite shortbread recipe.
Another area of growth, said Grady, is their All-Star Gift packages, which range in price from $39.99-$99.99 and feature tins of Classic Baseball Shortbread, as well as special add-ons, including Cooperstown t-shirts, Classic Baseball Cookie Mix, and tin baseball cookie cutters.
