Cooperstown Cookie Company Seeks Home Run with Bunts

Cooperstown, NY March 22, 2006 Just in time for Opening Day and a new baseball season, the Cooperstown Cookie Company™ introduces Bunts ,  bite-sized versions of its Classic Baseball Shortbread™ cookie.  Bunts are available in two quantities: 5 oz ($8.99) and 15 oz tin ($18.99). 

Bunts are the first of several new products joining the company’s lineup this year.  New cookies include Boys of Summer Lemon Shortbread, Mudville Mudballs Shortbread (a chocolate chip version) and All-Star Almond Shortbread.  Pati Drumm Grady, Cooperstown Cookie Company founder and president, says the new flavors are delicious new editions of her family’s time-tested shortbread recipe.   

"We're building on a very successful first year," says Grady. "Our goal is to delight the customer, and offering new cookies just gives us more ways to do so." 

In its first 17 months of operation, the Cooperstown Cookie Company has been carried at Nordstrom’s, served by Major League Baseball at receptions, and shipped to 48 states in the US and five countries.  Grady noted that 500 cookies were served at the wedding reception of a Hall of Famer’s granddaughter, 175 tins were given as favors at a Bar Mitzvah at Shea Stadium, and a 7-time National League All- Star and his wife sent out 70 tins for Christmas gifts.

Bunts and Classic Baseball Shortbread™ cookies are made at Pathfinder Village, a residential community dedicated to children and adults who have Down syndrome. The Cooperstown Cookie Company™ shares a portion of its profits with Pathfinder Village.
